Growing up in the San Francisco bay area, Charles always gravitated towards art as a child, with the recognition early on, that he was creative, and thus encouraged by several of his art teachers.

 

He later attended the California College of Arts and Crafts (CCAC) adjunct high school, “The Renaissance School”, which further encouraged and instilled in him the pursuit of expression via creative endeavors, including drawing, painting, music, sculpture and acting. ​
